Pilaster 4.20.204

An Ionic pilaster that starts part-way up the wall rather than at ground level: it stands on a stepped pedestal corbel, so it can frame a doorway above a step or plinth, or dress an upper storey. It measures 2519 mm tall, 356 mm wide and 134 mm deep overall, with an Ionic capital over a fluted shaft. The set is made up of Capital 4.51.201 (capital), Shaft 4.52.202 (shaft), Base 4.53.201 (base) and Bracket 4.83.202 (pedestal corbel), and each part is also sold on its own. Check the overall height against the space before ordering; the shaft is the part to trim if you need it shorter.

Every part is polyurethane foam: light enough to lift into place by hand, moisture resistant and delivered white, ready to paint. Bond the joints between the parts with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) (or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) for smaller jobs) and fix it in position with Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290). Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather. Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot hold up a porch roof, canopy, balcony or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
