Pilaster 4.20.304

A Corinthian pilaster that starts part-way up the wall rather than at ground level: it stands on a pedestal corbel with carved fluting beneath, so it can frame a doorway above a step or plinth, or dress an upper storey. It measures 2035 mm tall, 335 mm wide and 129 mm deep overall, with a Corinthian capital over a fluted shaft. The set is made up of Capital 4.51.301 (capital), Shaft 4.52.302 (shaft), Base 4.53.301 (base) and Bracket 4.83.302 (pedestal corbel), and each part is also sold on its own. Check the overall height against the space before ordering; the shaft is the part to trim if you need it shorter.

Made in lightweight polyurethane foam, it won’t rot or swell in the rain the way timber can. Use Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) on the joints between the parts and Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) to fix it in place. Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather. Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot hold up a porch roof, canopy, balcony or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
