Pilaster 4.20.201

An Ionic pilaster for the outside of the house, 2658 mm tall, 444 mm wide and 120 mm deep. At only 120 mm deep it sits close to the wall, ideal for framing a front door. It has an Ionic pilaster capital with scrolled volutes and an egg-and-dart band over a fluted shaft, finished at the foot with a moulded pilaster base. The set is made up of Capital 4.21.201, Shaft 4.22.201 and Base 4.23.201, and each part is also sold on its own. Check the overall height against the space before ordering; the shaft is the part to trim if you need it shorter.

Every part is polyurethane foam: light enough to lift into place by hand, moisture resistant and delivered white, ready to paint. Bond the joints between the parts with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) (or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) for smaller jobs) and fix it in position with Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290). Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather. Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot hold up a porch roof, canopy, balcony or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
