A window surround moulding (Gaudi call it a “platband”), 183 mm wide and 50 mm deep, supplied in 2 m lengths, with a broad cove sweeping out to a rounded outer edge. It runs up both sides and across the head of a window or door, mitred at the top corners, to frame the opening with a classical border. The same profile also comes in 2.3 m lengths as Window Frame 4.84.051: the 2.3 m length saves a joint up the sides of a tall window. Finish the bottom with one of our window ledges, such as Window Sill 4.82.101 or Window Sill 4.82.201.

Made in lightweight polyurethane foam, it won’t rot, crack or swell in the rain the way timber or sand-and-cement mouldings can, and it cuts cleanly with a fine-toothed saw. Use Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) to fix it and Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) on the joints. Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather.
