Column 4.10.201

An Ionic half column for the outside of the house, 2622 mm tall, 434 mm wide and 205 mm deep. It is half-round in plan, so it sits flat against the wall either side of a door or window. It has an Ionic capital with scrolled volutes and an egg-and-dart band over a fluted shaft, finished at the foot with a moulded base on a plinth. The set is made up of Capital 4.15.201, Shaft 4.16.201 and Base 4.17.202, and each part is also sold on its own. Check the overall height against the space before ordering; the shaft is the part to trim if you need it shorter.

Gaudi make it in polyurethane foam, which is light, moisture resistant and supplied white, ready for painting. Join the parts with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) and fix it with Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290). Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather. Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot hold up a porch roof, canopy, balcony or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
