A tall, shallow facade cornice supplied in 2 m lengths, 365 mm high and only 108 mm deep: a broad flat face under a moulded crown. Because it projects so little, it suits the top of a wall or a band between storeys where a deep cornice would overhang too far, for example under shallow eaves or along a boundary wall. Ready-made pieces mean the profile never has to be mitred on site: Facade Cornice Special 4.81.012 (external corner), Facade Cornice Special 4.81.022 (internal corner) and Facade Cornice Special 4.81.032 (end return). Facade Cornice Special 4.81.001 is the lower version.
Made in lightweight polyurethane foam, it won’t rot, crack or swell in the rain the way timber or sand-and-cement mouldings can. Fix it with Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) and use Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) on any joints. Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather.
