A Corinthian capital carved with acanthus leaves, corner volutes and a central rosette, 265 mm square and 208 mm high, the capital of one of Gaudi’s smaller full round facade columns, with a shaft of about 1.5 m. Although we list it under entablature, it is a column part, designed to go with Entablature 4.42.301 (shaft), Entablature 4.43.301 (base) and Entablature 4.43.302 (base) from the same series.
Like the rest of the facade range it is polyurethane foam: light, moisture resistant and supplied white, ready to paint. Bond it to the neighbouring parts with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60), and use Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) where it meets the wall. Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather. Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot hold up a porch roof, canopy, balcony or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
