An astragal ring for a half column: the moulded band that sits at the foot of the shaft, sized for the smooth shaft. It is 279 mm across, 138 mm deep and 26 mm thick. Being half-round, it sits flat against the wall. It is part of Column 1.10.213 and Column 1.10.214, and is sold separately for repairs, replacements or your own combination of parts.

Like the rest of the range it is polyurethane foam: light, moisture resistant and supplied white, ready to paint. Bond it to the neighbouring parts with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60), and use Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) where it meets the wall or floor. Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot carry a ceiling, beam or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
