A facade frieze (Gaudi call it a “Frise”), supplied in 2 m lengths: 191 mm high and 62 mm deep, with a plain boxed band. In a classical entablature the frieze is the calm, plain band between the cornice above and the architrave below; on a house it adds height and weight over a front door, a bay or a row of windows, and gives the mouldings around it room to stand out. Frieze 4.03.201 is the slimmer, flatter version of the same frieze, and Frieze 4.03.232 is the matching corner piece. To build the band below it, see architrave Frieze 4.04.202.
Like the rest of Gaudi’s facade range it is polyurethane foam: light, moisture resistant and supplied white, ready to paint. Fix it to the wall with Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) and bond every joint with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) (or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) for small repairs). Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather.
