The left leg of the ornate 1.64.101 surround: a curved cabriole upright, 180 mm wide and 877 mm high, projecting 171 mm. It is one of a mirrored pair, so order it with the right leg Fireplace Surround 1.64.003 and the mantel header Fireplace Surround 1.64.001, or take the complete set as Fireplace Surround 1.64.101.

Moulded in polyurethane foam, it is far lighter than a stone or cast surround and fixes with adhesive: use Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) to the wall and Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) where the parts meet. It arrives white and can be painted any colour, including stone and marble effects. Gaudi call these decorative fireplaces: polyurethane is not a heat-resistant or fire-rated material, so check the clearances required around any live fire, stove or insert with your installer before fitting.
