Cornice 4.01.231

A short pre-formed external corner for Cornice 4.01.201, for where the cornice wraps around the outside corner of a building or returns at the end of a run. Its legs are 100 mm shorter than the standard corner, which suits tight returns and short runs such as a cornice over a single door or window. It matches the stepped profile exactly, 278 mm high, with legs of about 283 mm, and joins straight onto the 2 m lengths, so there is no need to mitre the cornice on site. The other corners for this cornice are Cornice 4.01.211 (external corner) and Cornice 4.01.221 (internal corner).

Made in lightweight polyurethane foam, it won’t rot, crack or swell in the rain the way timber or sand-and-cement mouldings can, and it cuts cleanly with a fine-toothed saw. Use Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) to fix it and Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) on the joints. Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather.
