A plain facade frieze (Gaudi call it a “Frise”) from their entablature range, supplied in 2 m lengths: 162 mm high, with a deep, box-shaped profile that stands 92 mm proud of the wall. In a classical entablature the frieze is the smooth band between the cornice above and the architrave below, and it gives a clean, calm surface that makes the mouldings around it stand out. Gaudi pair it with Entablature 4.33.102, the flat version of the same frieze, and there is a matching corner piece, Entablature 4.33.131.
Made in lightweight polyurethane foam, it won’t rot or swell in the rain the way timber can, and it cuts cleanly with a fine-toothed saw. Use Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290) to fix it and Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) on the joints. Outdoors, finish it with a good exterior masonry paint once it is fixed; the painted finish protects the surface from sun and weather.
