An astragal ring for a half column: the moulded band that sits at the foot of the shaft, sized for the fluted shaft. It is 279 mm across, 138 mm deep and 26 mm thick. Being half-round, it sits flat against the wall. It is part of Column 1.10.205 and Column 1.10.206, and is sold separately for repairs, replacements or your own combination of parts.

It is polyurethane foam, supplied white and ready to paint, and it won’t rot or swell with moisture. Join it to the other parts with Joint Adhesive 290ml (G07.S.290) or Joint Adhesive 60ml (G08.S.60) and fix it with Multipurpose Adhesive 290ml (G10.U.290). Like all polyurethane decor it is decorative rather than structural: it cannot carry a ceiling, beam or any other load, so it must never stand in for a real column or post.
